      • Taking away

        • Take away all objects in a group to notice that "zero" remains, and work out taking away sums.
    • MEASUREMENT (Weeks 6-12)
      • Sides of objects
        • Identify and collect concrete objects found in the market.
        • Measure and compare sides of objects, identifying those with long and short sides.
      • Mass (heavy and light)
        • Collect concrete objects and use a see-saw to compare heavy and light items.
      • Capacity
        • Collect containers of different sizes and compare them by filling and emptying.
        • Outline safety measures to take when handling water containers.
      • Time (Daily routine)
        • Identify tools for telling time and outline vocabulary related to time (morning, noon, evening).
        • Compare shadow sizes at different times and identify daily activities.
        • Arrange flashcards to identify the days of the week and months of the year.
      • Money (Kenyan currency coins)
        • Identify and observe different Kenyan coins (Ksh. 1, 5, 10, 20).
        • Count money in one-shilling coins up to 20 and trace different coins on paper.
