    • Letter recognition
      • Match upper case letters with corresponding lower case letters.
    • Reading syllables and words
      • Read syllables in and out of class.
      • Blend syllables to read three to four-letter words correctly.

      • Demonstrate the ability to handle and arrange books properly for writing exercises.
    • Writing readiness skills
      • Hold a writing tool properly in and out of class.
      • Turn pages from right to left during writing activities.

      • Demonstrate eye-hand coordination through puzzles, computer typing, modeling, and painting.
