  The topics covered throughout the term include:

  • Playtime and Sports: Reading passages such as "The Kasarani Stadium" and "Lewa Marathon", developing concept maps, pronouncing short closed vowels, and writing comparative and superlative adjective sentences from substitution tables.
  • Food We Eat and Diseases: Reading comprehension texts including "Mburu and Wanja Fall Sick" and "Mosquitoes", using conjunctions (and, but, because) to join ideas, and learning guided narrative writing and text revision strategies.
  • Saving: Conducting picture walks and reading texts such as "Rainwater", formulating "how" and "why" questions from substitution tables, reciting theme poems, and drafting as well as revising personal biographies.
  • Talents: Reading and retelling stories including "The Football Match", "The Athletics Day", and "Horse Riding", practicing compound and two-syllable words, using comparative adjectives, and drafting acrostic poems.
  • Environment (Things Around Us): Reading the narrative "Nature's Best", forming plurals of irregular nouns, practicing neat handwriting, and writing and reviewing environmental acrostic poems.
