      • Identifying the place value of ones and tens using bundles of sticks.
      • Reading, writing, and arranging numbers in symbols and words up to 40.
      • Working out missing numbers in number patterns increasing in 2's, 3's, and 5's.
    • Addition:
      • Adding 3 single-digit numbers up to a sum of 10 horizontally and using a number line.
      • Adding a 2-digit number to a 1-digit number without regrouping vertically and horizontally.
      • Adding multiples of 10 up to 100.
    • Subtraction:
      • Modelling subtraction as taking away using concrete objects.
      • Subtracting numbers 1 to 9 from 10 by taking away and counting backwards.
      • Subtracting single-digit numbers from 2-digit numbers using the '-' and '=' signs.
      • Using the relationship between addition and subtraction basic facts.
      • Subtracting multiples of 10 and two 2-digit numbers horizontally using a place value chart.
  • MEASUREMENT (Weeks 7 to 11)
    • Length:
      • Comparing lengths of objects directly to identify those that are the "same as".
      • Measuring the lengths of similar items using arbitrary units like sticks and bottle tops.
    • Mass:
      • Comparing the mass of objects directly using the terms heavier than, lighter than, or same as.
      • Measuring the mass of objects using arbitrary units and a beam balance.
    • Capacity:
      • Comparing the capacity of containers to determine which holds more, less, or the same amount.
      • Conserving capacity by pouring water between containers of different shapes and sizes.
      • Measuring capacity by establishing how many small containers can fill a larger one.
    • Time:
      • Naming different times of the day according to the sun's shadow.
      • Relating daily activities to specific times (morning, afternoon, evening).
      • Reciting, writing, and relating the days of the week to various home and school activities.
    • Money:
      • Identifying Kenyan currency coins and notes up to sh.100.
      • Relating money to goods and services up to sh.100 through simulated buying and selling shopping activities.

    • Lines:
      • Defining and modelling straight lines using plasticine, clay, and drawings.
      • Identifying items in nature and the environment that feature straight and curved lines.
      • Modelling and drawing curved lines.
    • Shapes:
      • Drawing, naming, and identifying the circle shape in immediate environmental objects.
      • Creating patterns using a combination of different shapes including circles, rectangles, triangles, ovals, and squares.
