  ANP 1109 — Anatomy and Physiology is the most comprehensive module in the Year 1 Semester 1 programme, covering all six units of the 90-hour course in a single reference document. Chapter 1 covers levels of organization from atoms to tissues: homeostasis and negative feedback, directional terms and body planes in a reference table, cell structure and all major organelles, protein synthesis through transcription and translation, cell division (mitosis and meiosis), and the four tissue types. Chapter 2 covers support and movement: skin layers and functions, bone structure and remodelling, the skeletal system including pelvic anatomy, joint types and movements, and the three types of muscle with the sliding filament theory. Chapter 3 covers integration and coordination: the nervous system from action potential to brain lobes, the spinal cord and reflex arc, the five special senses, and the endocrine system with a nine-gland reference table of hormones and functions. Chapter 4 covers transport: blood composition and haemostasis, the coagulation cascade, ABO and Rh blood groups, cardiac anatomy and the conduction system, cardiac output, blood pressure regulation, and the lymphatic system. Chapter 5 covers absorption and excretion: the entire GI tract, liver and pancreatic functions, the respiratory system including alveolar gas exchange, the nephron and urine formation, and a four-row acid-base balance table (metabolic acidosis, metabolic alkalosis, respiratory acidosis, respiratory alkalosis). Chapter 6 covers reproduction: the menstrual cycle with a hormone graph prompt, male and female reproductive anatomy, and genetics fundamentals. They are written for KRCHN Year 1 students who need a single comprehensive anatomical and physiological reference for all clinical modules that follow.
