  This curriculum design is developed and published by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD). It was first published in 2024 as part of the rationalized Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) for Junior School. Grade 9 is the final level of Junior School and aims to deepen learners’ understanding of Islamic teachings, values, and practices to guide moral decision-making, responsible citizenship, and preparation for transition to Senior School.

    • Significance of Islamic Morality – 2 lessons

  • Strand 6.0: Muamalat (Social Relations) – 33 lessons

  The curriculum also provides guidelines for integrating Community Service Learning, suggested assessment methods, learning resources, and non-formal activities to support application of Islamic teachings in real-life situations and community engagement.
