  This curriculum design is developed by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) to support the implementation of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) at the Junior School level. It was first published in 2023 and revised in 2024. The design builds on competencies acquired in Grade 7 and aims to nurture learners’ moral, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual development as they prepare for transition to Senior School.

  The curriculum integrates life-approach teaching, promotes reflection, discernment, and critical thinking, and emphasizes Christian values such as love, responsibility, integrity, unity, and respect. It also incorporates Community Service Learning (CSL) to enable learners to apply Christian teachings in real-life community contexts.
