  This curriculum design is developed by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD). It was first published in 2017 and revised in 2024 as part of the rationalization of the Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) following the recommendations of the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms (PWPER).

  The curriculum design also provides key inquiry questions, suggested learning experiences, core competencies, values integration, Pertinent and Contemporary Issues (PCIs) such as financial literacy and environmental awareness, assessment rubrics, suggested learning resources, and Community Service Learning (CSL) guidelines to support practical application of mathematical concepts in everyday life.
