  The PDF document comprises Grade 2 Rationalized Indigenous Languages Curriculum Design.

  This is a Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) design developed by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD). The curriculum was first published in 2021 and revised in 2024 following curriculum rationalisation based on the recommendations of the Presidential Working Party on Education Reforms and continuous curriculum monitoring and evaluation.

  • Strand 3.0: Writing (20 lessons)
    • Handwriting (Lowercase and Uppercase Letters) – 4 lessons

  The curriculum is organised into thematic contexts such as The School, Activities at School, Domestic Animals, Personal Hygiene and Safety at Home to support meaningful language use in familiar environments. It emphasises interactive learning, integration of digital tools, cultural values, environmental awareness and social responsibility to support holistic learner development and smooth transition to Grade 3.
