  This is a Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) design developed by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).   The curriculum design emphasises hands-on learning, use of locally available materials, integration of technology, and participation in school and community creative activities such as cultural days, music and arts festivals, exhibitions, sports and performances. It also provides detailed performance-based assessment rubrics and guidance on integrating values, safety, environmental conservation and life skills to support holistic learner development and smooth transition to the next grade.
